1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 can condensed milk
1 package chocolate chips
1 package peanut butter chips
1. In 13x9x2 pan, melt butter.
2. Sprinkle crumbs evenly over butter.
3. Pour condensed milk evenly over crumbs.
4. Top with chips and press firmly.
5. Bake 25-30 minutes until lightly browned at 350 degrees.
3/4 C butter
3/4 C brown sugar
package of Club Crackers*
package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
* alternately called Waverly Crackers, these are rectangular-shaped Saltine-like buttery crackers.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and coat with non-stick spray. Place the crackers edge-to-edge on the cookie sheet (this will be the "base" of the bar).
Melt the butter in a pot. Add the brown sugar. Stir and stir and stir until the butter and brown sugar are melted together, mixed together, and can be poured easily (about 3 minutes of stirring).
Pour the almost-caramel concoction over the crackers and spread evenly with a spatula. Then put the cookie sheet in the oven for 5 minutes (or until the topping is bubbling).
Take the cookie sheet out of the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips all over. They will begin to melt. Spread the chocolate into the caramel topping. Put the cookie sheet back in the oven for a minute or so, until all the chips have melted. Take the sheet back out, spread the remaining chips into the caramel topping -- everything should be mixed and melted together now.
Let the bars cool. Once cooled, break into individual Waverly Bars. Share with loved ones and tell them you slaved for hours in the kitchen, when you actually didn't. Enjoy!
